Yuanyuan & Yang — Onyeka Nwelue

Yuanyuan & Yang
By Onyeka Nwelue

They left China looking for a better life. Ghana was supposed to be a new beginning.

For Yuanyuan and Yang, two friends from Beijing carrying difficult pasts, Accra offers the promise of opportunity—but their journey begins with hunger, humiliation and a robbery that leaves them stranded outside the gates of a company where they hope to find work.

Then they hear the name Yang Yang, the powerful woman behind Zonda Tec Ltd. Though they have never met her, she soon becomes the centre of their new lives. What begins as curiosity develops into an increasingly dangerous pursuit through unfamiliar streets, corporate corridors and a world filled with secrets.

As Yuanyuan becomes convinced that meeting Yang Yang will change everything, his friend follows him deeper into a mystery involving hidden agendas, watching eyes and unexpected connections. Having already survived prison, poverty and the difficulties of starting again in a foreign country, the two men must discover what awaits them before it is too late to turn back.

Described on the book cover as a work of comedy, Yuanyuan & Yang combines an unusual cross-cultural journey with suspense, ambition and the unpredictable experiences of two friends searching for a fresh start.
